C9. Kiosk (self-service kiosk)🔗
In brief🔗
The Kiosk is the self-service kiosk mode: a screen where the customer orders by themselves. This settings screen prepares and configures the kiosk experience attached to the register.
Dedicated module and application
🧩 The kiosk depends on the Kiosk (KIOSK) module. The PosBorne application is the customer experience itself: its detailed operation is covered in the PosBorne guide. This chapter is limited to the configuration point on the register side.
Who / when🔗
For the Admin, when setting up an ordering kiosk.
How to access🔗
Admin → Connected devices, then access to the Kiosk settings (the kiosk is a companion device attached to the register).
Requirements🔗
🔑 Manage settings · 🧩 Kiosk (KIOSK) module
Principle🔗
- The kiosk is a companion device: it connects to the register (or to the primary register in multi-register) like the other devices — see Multi-register & network.
- The number of kiosks authorized depends on the license (visible in Connected devices: e.g. Kiosk Yes, 0/2 online).
- The Kiosk settings configure the customer experience (presentation, ordering flow) before it goes live.
Procedure (overview)🔗
- Enable the Kiosk module (Licenses & modules).
- In Connected devices, pair the kiosk to the register (Multi-register & network).
- Open the Kiosk settings to configure the experience, then put the kiosk into service.
Tips🔗
- In multi-register, attach the kiosks to the primary register to centralize the orders.
