The backup center creates complete copies and prepares recovery. A backup, a fiscal export and cleanup are three separate operations.
Open the center
Open Admin → Backup with export and settings-management permissions. The current version has Overview, Back up, Restore, Fiscal, Auto, V3 archives, Vault and Maintenance. The summary shows the latest backup and data volume. Available actions depend on installation and permissions.
Create a complete backup
In Back up, select the offered destination: local storage or an authorized external drive.
Start creation and wait until it finishes. If Android asks for a folder, select the intended drive and grant only the necessary access.
Check the archive name, date and size. Keep the actual
.fpbackupformat; renaming it to ZIP does not convert it.Keep a protected copy outside the register. Store encryption recovery material separately. A copy stored only on the device does not protect against losing it.
Scheduling, archives and vault
Auto shows the available schedule and status. Settings managed from PosAdmin must be changed there; a locked setting is not a failed backup. Check the latest success.
V3 archives concerns the previous backup engine. Vault shows the recovery engine and its checks. If “V4 vault active — V3 stopped” appears, use the active vault workflow. Creating a recovery point requires the necessary permissions, connection and recovery material. Wait for confirmation: clicking the button does not prove a point is available.
Select external storage through Choose USB drive when offered. Resolve quota, connection or verification requirements before considering protection operational.
Restore an archive
Back up the current state before replacement and finish ongoing operations.
In Restore, choose the offered source and the archive matching this register.
Let the tool analyze the file. Check identity, date, version and recognized sections.
If a password or recovery material is requested, provide the one associated with the archive. Do not assume that a login PIN is a recovery key.
Select the permitted sections, read the warnings and confirm replacement. Wait for completion and any requested restart.
Check restored catalog, employees, settings and history before resuming business.
Identity, format, integrity or decryption errors block the workflow. Do not rename the archive or change register identity to bypass checks. The verified local BO can analyze a compatible ZIP, but applying restoration is disabled there; use the appropriate native workflow.
Fiscal export and maintenance
In Fiscal, select scope, period and an offered format. Check the exported file. It does not replace a complete backup. Traceability functions do not constitute NF525 certification: it has not been obtained.
In Maintenance, read the analysis and scope first. Optimizing images, cleaning already protected logs and deleting business data have different effects. Follow required backups, reasons, confirmations and blocks; do not run cleanup to solve a connection error.
Check the result
After an interruption, check the operation status and available archives before retrying. Regularly verify a readable copy, its destination and associated recovery material. Before replacing hardware, confirm the identity and recovery workflow intended for your installation.
